CREATURES OF THE NIGHT

Throughout human history there have been crazy stories about the most deplorable evils, in origin they could simply be people so shocked be violent crime as to attribute it to something unhuman, but... there is always the possibility that these creatures are real, and that... they do lurk. If they are real, then make sure to look outside. Personally, I think it would be incredibly easy for these creatures to survive and possibly even thrive in the modern world. A clever Vampire, when caught, will be able to trick his arresters into believing he's nothing but a man. Then, escape when night comes. I may sound admittently, absolutely batshit insane, but, I don't know man, it SEEMS possible to me.

But Vampires aren't the only creature of the night, there are ghouls, ghosts, wolfmen, etc; And to me, I believe that all of these may have some truth in existstence, especially for ghosts. My personal theory is that due to the conservation of matter all humans, their soul atleast, retains some kind of existence on the plane of mortals. This existence becomes more powerful when the soul was incomplete, yearning for something that it needed, or died prematurely. That and some ghosts could simply decide to stay to watch over their living mortal relatives. The fact of the matter here is that it's impossible to for certain dismiss ghosts entirely, and that means, there will always be a chance they exist. As for Lycans, these are a bit harder to prove, but, I imagine that most of them simply lurk in the forest as their human side chooses to save the people around them. In the Goosebumps book, The Werewolf of Fever Swamp, a boy moves out by a swamp and his family is attacked by a werewolf, who was a child he was neighbors with. It's learned that the child likely ate his own parents and killed the family of a Swamp hermit. This depiction of a werewolf, one that is trapped in a youth, never aging, feeding on the unlucky families that move in next door, is a promising one, that could be a reliable way for these creatures to hunt if they exist.

These monsters are notably one of the most interesting things we as humans have created in my opinion, and if they aren't real, there are certainly explanations for them. But, in my heart, I choose to believe, not out of fear of them, but for the fact that maybe if I believe in them, they'll spare me when they do find me.
