Something about cars before the 1990s is just generally more tasteful to me, I mean, the 1980s were getting less tasteful but, yknow. Something about that style of vehicle is just more appealing to the eye than like, the modern sedan. Not to mention they always came in sweet ass colors, nowadays you take a look at a car and it's like, silver. The most exotic you'll get is like a yellow so that little kids can shout "Look mom, it's Bumblebee from transformers!" at the top of their lungs. Of course I wasn't anywhere close to being alive in the 1950s-1960s so for all I know these cars are just a conspiracy by the government to make people pay attention to the past instead of occupying themselves with the current issues of now but, that's a stretch, even for someone who believes the government (CIA) would totally do something like that now if they could.
There's this one guy on youtube who got me into the whole thing particularly his cross country "video essays" he's got a fairly large following, he's Noah Caldwell-Gervais. Love the videos he makes, I recently just finished his 7 hour epic on the Lincoln Highway and it was over all a very good experience. I think at this point I've watched all of them.
